Billet, Bloom and Slab are semi-finished steel products with square section produced via continuous casting technology. They are produced in a wide range of steel grades and must undergo a series of manufacturing processes before they can be used for various purposes. They serve as basis material for the warm rolling or are processed directly into forged pieces. Billets have a specific grain structure, which enables the metal to be processed more intricately. Steel billets are also known for their malleability and ductility, especially when exposed to varying temperatures during shaping and molding. Generally, blooms have a section measure of 160 mm or more, and billets have smaller measures.
